NATIONAL # 831

I would like to take a few minutes of your time to introduce myself.

My name is Ryan Smith. I’m a 20-year-old motorcycle racer and have been racing since 1998 with dreams of becoming a motorcycle-racing champion. I know with my determination, heart, desire and competiveness to become the best, along with your help, I can, and will make it happen. This year (2011), I have measurably progressed and put all my focus into my Supercross Season. 2011 was my first full healthy season in Supercross, where I recorded a best 13th place finish at San Diego. I will be competing in Germany and possibly a few other European races abroad to help prepare for my 2012 Supercross season here in the U.S..

I come from a family of motorcycle racing champions – my grandfather Bob Bailey, raced flat track and road races, my uncle, Gary Bailey, (known as The Professor) was a National Champion in Motocross, and my cousin, David Bailey, was National Champion in both the 250cc and 500cc classes. They have instilled in me, the work ethic and drive that it takes to be a champion. As my training and racing schedule allows, I am the Track Manager for Lake Sugartree Motorsports Park located in Axton, VA. where we hold several AMA sanctioned events throughout the year, so I know something of the business side of this sport as well.

As you know, getting from race to race and maintaining my race motorcycles is not a cheap endeavor. Fortunately, a number of companies and individuals have believed in me enough to sponsor me with equipment and funds. I’m hoping that with additional sponsors, I can better focus on my technique and skills to allow myself to have the championship season I know is within my ability, and compete successfully in all the outdoor nationals in 2012.

My main sponsors have been; Arai Helmets, Scott Goggles, Gary Bailey MX School, EVS Sports, Total Control Suspension, Liquid Performance, Decal Works Graphics, O’Neal, and Honda-Suzuki of Lynchburg, VA. To all of them, I give my undying thanks and gratitude for all the assistance this year that they have so graciously provided. I’m hoping that I can find some additional help to assist me in reaching the goals that I have set for myself.

I can be reached on my cell phone at (831) 704-MOTO or by email at champion931@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
    Ryan Smith #831
